It's a short and sweet melt this go around. A good friend of mine gave me an exhaust motor from a gas heater to melt down. I don't have access to most of my tools right now, so I kept it as simple as I could for this one. I hope you enjoy this quick melt video as much as I did making it!

Apex Legends Wraith Kunai Sand Cast 6061 Aluminum Alloy - 3D Print PLA to Metal - The Growing Stack
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.7 месяцев назад
I went to Thingiverse.com to find something to 3D print so I could attempt to cast it in metal. I came across this design of Apex Legends Wraith's Kunai Knife. I'll be honest, I haven't played that game so I don't really know what it is all about, but the design looked really cool and fun to try to cast. I download the model and split it in half so I could sand cast it. I used a rod of 6061 Alu...

Просмотров 3 тыс.8 месяцев назад
I 3D Printed a Mortal Kombat coin and some throwing stars. I sand casted them with Petrobond sand. The stars turned out pretty good, the Mortal Combat coin, well, I need some more practice there. I might need to refine my 3D print settings, but it was a fun melt overall. I hope you all enjoy watching this video as much as I did making it...
Melting Brass - Bathroom Faucet Meltdown - Trash to Treasure - The Growing Stack
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.9 месяцев назад
I replaced some faucets in my house that were starting to show their age. Rather than throw them away, I melted the brass out of them for a small addition to the stack. It's been around 110°F in Arizona lately, so I made this one short and sweet. I hope you enjoy this quick melt as much as I did making it.
Hershey's Bar Brass Casting - Sand Casting a Hershey's Chocolate Bar - Brass Scrap to Treasure - TGS
Просмотров 6 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Today I tried my hand at sand casting a Hershey's chocolate bar with petrobond sand. I open poured the bar as I need to make some new flasks for two sided casting. The heat in Arizona was no match for the chocolate bar, but I pressed on. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but it was a fun time nonetheless. I hope you enjoy watching my process and what I went through in this episode as m...

Recycling Aluminum - Melting an Aluminum Electrical Panel - Scrap to Treasure - Trash to Treasure
Просмотров 7 тыс.11 месяцев назад
I had a friend give me an electrical panel that had burned up and he had to replace it. Rather than throw it in the trash, I melted it down to ingots and saved it from the landfill. It took a bit of time to break down and melt, but I enjoyed every second of it. I hope you enjoy watching this one as much as I did making it! -TheGrowingStack

Transformers - Autobots & Decepticons Casting - Sand Casting Zinc - Melting Metal - TheGrowingStack
Просмотров 4 тыс.Год назад
I had a lot of fun casting some Transformers logos this go around. They were pretty small and I'm not the best at sand casting, but they came out pretty good. I think I enjoyed the music the most on this one, maybe even more than the video. It's a nice cover of the 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, and I love how it turned out. I hope you all enjoy watching this episode as much as I did making it!

Now that's a massive amount of cans. Aluminum price is around 2.6k per ton. Your 75kg of aluminum is worth about $200.

typically american, melting aluminium with propane then talking about high price of propane, you could have easily melted those cans on fire made by wood and or coal with an air blower pointed to it, it doesnt take much heat to melt aluminium
